NOTE: The above recovery curve provides a general picture of the process of recovery. First the severity of injury is determined by establishing the duration of coma and/or pta. Once determined, the recovery time is represented along the baseline. The level of cognitive functioning is determined by neuropsychological assessment and provides an indication of the vertical position on the curve.
